The meeting was called to order by Don Rickerson, the newly elected chairman, with a Welcome and request for the approval of the proposed agenda.
The previous meeting minutes were approved followed by the Treasurer's Report
presented by outgoing Treasurer, Bill Kelly, with the support of incoming
treasurer, Saj Durrani. The treasurer's report was approved unanimously
-- Section assessments have been sent early- no payments received
-- both Washington and NOVA Section Q1 assessments
-- payment of $3000 from Compass
-- Credit card merchant account for Scanner billings

Rebates for timely report submission:
- Sections-$1800- must have met at least five times in 1999
- Chapters-$180- must have held two technical meetings in 1999
- Affinity Groups-$150- must have met at least two times in 1999
- Membership- $3 - to each section per member as of 31 Dec 1999
- The NCAC is seeking nominations for the following positions:
· NCAC University Coordinator- maintain relations with student chapters.
· NCAC PACE Coordinator- maintain Profession Activities such as continuing
education, PACE conferences, GOLD program.
· Region 2 Chairman- Nominations for Region 2 Chairman are needed by 31 Jan. In
theory, anyone who is a senior member is eligible, but in practice, they should
have been a past Section Chairman.
- Officer Training will be held at the Oracle Facility in Reston on 5 Feb,
please come at 8:30 to sign in and have coffee. Jerry Gibbon is the chair and
new officers and directors are particularly encouraged to come and
participate.
· Contract Status - Ron Aasen reported that the contract with Jackie Hunter for
Admin Services has been signed, but the section on "letters for new members" has
been deleted. The contract with brassring.com/Kaplan for job fairs has been
signed by them and by me and is presently with Tom Suttle of IEEE USA for
approval. The contract with Karen Winstedt for Scanner Editor is with her for
signature, but she will wait for the outcome of the Scanner coordination
meeting.
· Conferences - Jerry Gibbon
· The MD Technology Showcase had a great turnout, and there were many IEEE
volunteers to help staff our booth
· COMNET in DC 25-27 Jan - registrations due
· Radar 2000 is coming up in May.
· Membership Development - Howard Needham would like to have a SM drive by
inviting prospective Senior Members to NCAC meetings in April/May 2000.
· Professional Activities - PACE - Saj Durrani
· Duval High School-project mentors needed
· Student Branch support needed-Capitol College asking for support
· Saj Durrani has initiated correspondence with schools for mentoring programs
and speakers. He is currently in contact with 8 high schools. In addition, the
plans for a JAVA course are in the works. CEU approvals are being coordinated.
Another course on Developing Web Sites is being coordinated at the University of
MD. There was an offer to hold this course at Capitol College.
· Dave Booth plans to hold an organizational meeting for a new chapter of Life
Members. The meeting will be held at Bentleys in Falls Church on Jan. 11th. He
expects a dozen or more to attend this opening luncheon.

Director.
